ESB confirms south Longford domestic customers will also benefit from new Center Parcs upgrade

The ESB has confirmed that homes in south Longford will be able to connect to an upgraded electricity network being developed to power the Center Parcs site.

It was confirmed this week that a new €4.5million substation being built in Ballymahon will be operational by 2019 in order to to be able to meet the demand from the €233million Longford Forest attraction.

The three-mega-volt-amp supply will be delivered to the site via mix of overground and underground cables and work is currently underway at upgrading the substation in Ballymahon in order to have it complete by early 2019.


The announcement has been welcomed by Minister for the OPW Kevin Boxer Moran and David O’Connell, regional manager for ESB Networks told Shannonside FM that the upgrade will also benefit domestic and business customers:
