€5,000 raised for children of Longford crash victim

Almost €5,000 has been raised for the children of a young Leitrim mother who died in a car crash outside Drumlish nearly two weeks ago.

Friends of 34 year-old Claire Bann set up a GoFundMe online page to help buy Christmas presents for her four children after her tragic death.

Ms Bann, who was from Dromod, had a young family with three boys and a girl, aged from 13 years to three years.

She died when her car was in collision with two other cars at Cloonagh, near Drumlish, on Thursday, November 30.

A friend posted on the internet that the fundraising drive was only expected to raise a few hundred euros to buy presents for the deceased woman’s children but managed to gather €4,936.

With so much collected now she said that clothes, shoes and “everything else” that they need over the next while can now be bought for the youngsters.
