€1.25m for new library in Edgeworthstown

The development of a new Edgeworthstown library has received a major funding boost, with €1.25 million granted from the government.

Plans for the new library in east Longford were originally unveiled in 2015, and it’s hoped this funding boost can help the progress the project to the next stage, which is likely to be the tender stage.

The library is expected to cost in the region of €3 million and it’s hoped building works can begin before the end of 2017.
