Disappointment as Longford town centre bingo to cease after decades at Temperance Hall

There are calls for some organisation to take up Sunday night bingo at the Temperance Hall in Longford after it was announced last weekend that St Vincent De Paul won’t be running the games anymore.

Bingo players were told last Sunday night that the organisation would not be able to continue running the games because of falling attendance numbers.

Pauline Sheils who’s been calling numbers at the hall once a month for the past 20 years says people were very sad at hearing the news on Sunday night.
