Call for disabled parking bay near health facilities in Ballymahon town

Longford County Council is being asked to locate a parking bay for people with mobility issues at the Mullingar end of Ballymahon town.

The issue was raised at a recent Ballymahon MD meeting when Councillor Pat O’ Toole said he had been approached by many people who said they wanted a better facility for people who are sick and who need to access health services in that part of town.

There is presently a disabled car parking space in the town centre, and there are plans to add another two spaces when the streetscaping work is being carried out in the coming months.

Pat O’ Toole says it can be hard to access any parking in what is a very busy part of town and he’s hoping the council will agree to meet the needs of the people involved.
