Bumper funding package announced for roads near Center Parcs project

Longford County Council has received an additional  €1.1million in funding to improve roads specifically around the Centre Parcs site in Ballymahon.

The government’s road allocation budget for each council is due to be published today, but in a document seen by Shannonside FM €6.1 million has been promised to the local authority for regional and local roads in the county this year.

The Department of Transport has confirmed that road works will commence this year as part of a specific improvement grant to improve and develop the road network around the planned project area.
