The head of Bord na gCon has indicated that Longford Stadium will receive support if it re-opens as expected next week.
Officials from the greyhound racing industry appeared before the Public Accounts Committee today where it was revealed that attendances at greyhound tracks around the country have fallen by 20 percent.
The track in Longford has been closed since last month in order to carry out urgent fire safety works
This afternoon in a Facebook post track management has indicated that racing will resume on Monday, with a race card expected to be published tomorrow.
