Books of Condolence for Gay Byrne opened in Leitrim and Longford

Longford County Council has confirmed that it is the latest local authority in the Shannonside region to open a Book of Condolence for the late Gay Byrne.

The broadcaster passed away following a long-term illness on Monday age 85, and his funeral is due to take place tomorrow in Dublin.

A Book of Condolence in memory of the former Late Late Show presenter is open in the Offices of Longford County Council, Aras an Chontae, Great Water Street, Longford.

A book is also open at Leitrim County Council’s office in Carrick-on-Shannon and at the local authority offices of Westmeath County Council in Athlone and Mullingar.

Roscommon County Council has confirmed that it has received no request to open a similar Book of Condolence at its offices.
