Boil water notice continuing in Granard

There’s still no indication today as to when the boil water notice affecting around two and a half thousand people in Granard will be lifted.

The notice was issued nine days days ago following a mechanical issue at the Lough Kinale water treatment plant.

Asked for an update on the situation today Irish Water has issued a statement to say the company’s drinking water compliance and operational experts are working with colleagues in Longford Council to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

The company says that all customers of the Granard Public Water Supply are advised to boil water for use until further notice.
