Ballymahon residents plan to oppose plan for 39 new homes in Dún Aras

Residents in a Ballymahon estate believe plans for an additional 39 houses in the area will create additional traffic hazards.

Longford county council last week received an application for the construction of 39 new homes at Dún Aras on the Ballymulvey Road.

However resident last night met as a group and called door to door in the current 24-home estate to gather opinion on the proposed development which they fear will heighten the danger for pedestrians cyclists and motorist in the area due to increased traffic

Dun Aras resident Sean Clancy believes there more development in the estate will pose an increased risk to  the local community
