Agreement reached to allow Civil Defence provide medical assistance at festivals and events

The Association of Festivals and Events is welcoming the move by the Defence Minister to seek the renewal of a license for Civil Defence as a pre-hospital emergency care service provider.

The current licence was due to expire at the end of November 2018.

Minister Paul Kehoe has today sought an extension from the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council until August 2020.

This will allow the Civil Defence to continue to provide emergency medical services at public events.
