Just 74 properties are available to rent in the Shannonside region today according to one of the country’s biggest property websites.
The latest quarterly Daft.ie rental report reveals that the number of rental properties nationally is at its lowest level in 13 years.
Logging on to daft.ie today, the options for finding a suitable home in the Shannonside region are limited.
Just 29 properties are available for prospective renters in Roscommon, 24 in Longford and just 21 in Leitrim.
In this region, rents in the first quarter of 2019, compared to the same quarter of 2018, rose by almost 12% in Roscommon to just under €700, Longford up just over 10% where the average is now €693 and in Leitrim, it grew by 8% where the average cost of rent is now €590.
Despite the increases, the Shannonside region is still the cheapest are in Ireland which to rent with the average rents now standing at an all-time high of 1-thousand 366 euro nationally.
