Over 50 homeless people were supported by Midlands Simon Community in County Longford last year.
The service has launched its key fundraiser ”Sleep Out for Simon”, which takes place at Connolly Barracks in Longford town on Good Friday, April 14th next.
It costs over €3,000 to support a homeless person in temporary accommodation each year, which is why, for the most part, homelessness is hidden in the county.
The chief executive of Midlands Simon ,Tony O’ Riordan, explains how they use the money raised to help people.
Anyone wishing to take part in the ‘Sleep Out for Simon’ on Good Friday is asked to collect a sponsorship card from Noel Greene on 087-9615766.
