Up to 400 councillors to attend Longford seminar

Between three and four hundred councillors from around the country are set to attend a local government training seminar in Longford town later this month.

The conference will take place at the Longford Arms hotel over the 21st and 22nd of this month and a number of special guest speakers have been invited to address the delegates.

The speakers will include Longford native Anne Heraty of CPL Resources Ltd, the new General Manager of Center Parcs Longford Forest Dara Feighery, and Local Government Minister John Paul Phelan among others.

Longford Councillor Louie Mc Entire was elected President of the Association of Irish Local Government at the end of last year and he arranged for the tow day event to be held in the county town.

He says he’s looking forward to hearing from the line-up of speakers, and feels the event will prove a good boost for the local economy.
