Over 150 fines issued for littering in Longford so far this year

Longford County Council has fined over 150 people for littering or fly-tipping in the first 8 months of the year.

The figures, released to Shannonside FM, under Freedom of information, reveal that six people have also been fined by the local authority in the first eight months of the year for dog fouling.

In Roscommon, just three fines were issued for dog fouling in the same time period, while in the first eight months of the year, a total of 655 environmental complaints were received by the County Council, including 443 concerning litter and 155 for waste.

32 water complaints and 7 noise complaints were also logged with Roscommon County Council between January and August of this year.
