Two local TDs tipped to be appointed Junior Ministers this week

There are hopes that the Shannonside region may have at least two Junior Ministers when they are announced this week.

With the controversy over no senior appointments through Connaught, Donegal and Clare, continuing today, senior Ministers including Health Humphreys and Simon Coveney have indicated that the West will be represented in the Minister of State roles.

Longford Westmeath Fine Gael TD Peter Burke is tipped to be promoted and Deputy Frank Feighan in Sligo Leitrim North Roscommon and South Donegal is also well placed strategically to be elevated.

He is the only Fine Gael political representative at national level since 2002 not be receive a Ministerial role or that of a Committee Chair.

Speaking on Let’s Talk today, he says he is hopeful that he will be considered.
