Tributes have been paid to a Leitrim man who was killed in a road crash in Australia earlier this week.
36-year-old Francis Shanley died in a multiple car pile up-in Sydney on Thursday morning.
The Bornacoola native had been living in Australia for the last decade and was engaged to be married.
His fiancée paid tribute to him on Facebook, describing him as “beautiful, strong head, lucky charm Irish boy” and “who will be forever in our hearts and sadly missed.”
Local councillor Sean McGowan has also expressed his sympathies to the family, and says the entire community is in shock at the death of the popular tradesman.
Principal of Bornacoola National School Declan Bohan says his death, especially so far away from home, is a tragedy
