A Sligo-Leitrim TD has called on the Minister for Agriculture to make progress on the beef taskforce immediately.
The meeting was postponed after protesting farmers clashed with Meat Industry Ireland representatives in mid-October.
According to Deputy Marc MacSharry, Minister Creed’s failure to get the taskforce up and running is “extremely disappointing” for farmers who feel “abandoned”.
Deputy MacSharry claims there are very little options for farmers with limited land holdings and that they can’t just change tack.
