Sligo Hospital consultant reveals all Covid patients who were ventilated now well

A leading consultant in Sligo University Hospital is calling on the public not to let their guard down when it comes to preventing the spread of coronavirus.

Senior consultant in emergency medicine Fergal Hickey is paying tribute to the efforts of people in the north west which have resulted in the hospital’s highest daily caseload of Covid 19 at eleven patients.

He says everyone including those patients who required ventilation have recovered from their symptoms.

However, Mr Hickey who is also the Communications Officer with the Irish Association for Emergency Medicine they are still very much on alert for a rise in cases.
