Senator Frank Feighan to run for Fine Gael in Sligo Leitrim in next general election

Senator Frank Feighan has been added to the party’s ticket to contest the Sligo-Leitrim constituency at the next General Election.

It follows a meeting of Fine Gael’s executive council yesterday evening, and meetings with prospective candidates on Monday.

Former TD and Senator Gerry Reynolds who had been selected to run at a party convention in Leitrim last year announced in recent weeks that he was stepping aside due to business commitments.

Senator Feighan has said he’s honoured and delighted to be asked by the party to represent the people of Sligo-Leitrim, and he’s looking forward to working on the ground with his party colleague, Sinead Maguire, to get the best possible result for Fine Gael in the constituency.
