Senator Frank Feighan rules out general election bid in Sligo/Leitrim constituency.

Roscommon Senator Frank Feighan has ruled out any possibility of him running in the Sligo/Leitrim constituency in the next general election.

He was speaking after his statement this week ruling himself out of any contest in the Roscommon/Galway constituency where Fine Gael has yet to hold a convention.

Senator Maura Hopkins declared her interest in contesting Roscommon earlier this week and it’s expected she’ll go forward with a candidate from Galway.


Senator Feighan’s home town of Boyle is now in the Sligo/Leitrim constituency but speaking on the Lets Talk show today, he acknowledged the two candidate strategy already chosen there is the right one…
