A spokesperson for the Save Leitrim group says they welcome the report on forestry in the county, which was published yesterday.
The report had been commissioned by the Department of Agriculture earlier this year to assess the impact of forestry in the county.
The Save Leitrim group, which was established in recent years to campaign against the amount of land being planted with forestry in Leitrim, say they have some concerns that some of the statistics complained about in the report aren’t as clear as they could be.
They say this is particularly in relation to who may have bought the land since it was originally planted by some local farmers.
