Property spending over €200 million in midlands north east last year


Over two hundred and twenty million euro was spent on property in the Shannonside region in 2019.

A four-bed bungalow on a 1.6 acre site in Cavan Town sold for the highest individual sum of €590,000.


However, this is a significantly lower number than the largest transaction in the county in the year prior, which was Arley in Mountnugent for €895,000.

Eight hundred and seventeen property sales were recorded in the county last year, with a combined total of €119.2million.

Monaghan’s biggest one-off sale of the year was a property on Blackfort Road, which sold for €450,000.

According to the Property Price Register, three hundred and eighty five properties were sold in Monaghan in 2019, with a combined total of €58.9million.

Meanwhile, Leitrim’s largest one-off sale amounted to €340,000, which was for Rosclogher House in 2019.

Four hundred and fifty five sales were recorded for almost fifty three million euro in the county last year.
