Primary school in Drumshanbo applying for planning permission for an autistic unit

A primary school in Drumshanbo is applying for planning permission for a new facility for children with autism.

It’s part of a significant development planned for St Patrick’s National School.

According to the planning application lodged with Leitrim County Council, it’ll include the demolition of an existing storage building.

A single-storey extension will be developed in its place, including an autistic spectrum disorder unit.

Local councillor Brendan Barry says the facility is badly needed.
