A very large crowd attended the official opening of the Ballinamore Community Nursing Unit and Primary Care Centre this afternoon.
The new HSE facility was launched by Leitrim Guardian ‘Person of the Year’ Hubert McHugh, while numerous politicians were also in attendance.
The purpose-built facility has 20 beds and cost almost €6 million, while the Primary Care Centre provides accommodation for GPs and public-health nurses.
It is the first time there has been a state nursing home in Ballinamore and this resident, Eddie Cafferty, who is from the town, spoke favourably about it:
