Northern Ireland is to announce plans for a four-week lockdown later.
The Stormont Executive met last night for talks with the result believed to be an agreement that pubs and restaurants will close - while there will be an extended two-week break for schools at Halloween.
It comes as Northern Ireland is battling the highest infection rates of Covid-19 on the island.
There's speculation that border counties like Cavan and Monaghan which also have high rates of Covid may also face stricter restrictions as a result.
Latest county figures show 22 more cases detected in Cavan and less than 5 in Monaghan.
Five or fewer cases have also been reported in Leitrim and Roscommon, while five cases of the virus have been confirmed in Longford.
A formal announcement is expected to be made during a special sitting of the Assembly later this morning.
