A new garda Superintendent has been appointed for Carrick-on-Shannon as part of a range of promotions and transfers announced by Garda Headquarters this afternoon.
Superintendent Mandy Gaynor who's a Dublin native had served previously in stations in Dublin, Mayo and Donegal.
She's a member of the force for almost 30 years.
She's taking up the senior position in Leitrim following on from the recent retirement of Superintendent Kevin English.
Superintendent Ray McMahon who's a native of Carrick-on-Shannon is taking up a position with the National Roads policing unit at Garda Headquarters.
His role in Sligo is being filled by former Castlerea Superintendent Goretti Sheridan as already announced on Shannonside Northern Sound this week.
Inspector Padraic Burke in Roscommon is promoted to Superintendent in Ballymote District in Sligo.
Roscommon town native Christopher Grogan is also promoted to Superintendent and is appointed to Baltinglass District in Wicklow.
