New business creates 20 jobs in Carrick

A new bar and restaurant, employing 20 people, has just opened in Carrick-on-Shannon.

Buffalo Boy is a partnership between three local businessmen – Sham Hanifa, Seán Purcell and Brian Whelan.

The Leitrim county town is renowned for its fine restaurants, but Sham, who also runs the famous Cottage Restaurant in Jamestown, felt there was a need for a steakhouse.

Sham says the new restaurant will be a boost to the town’s economy.

You can hear a full interview with Sham Hanifa, Seán Purcell and Brian Whelan on the Bottom Line on Shannonside/Northern Sound on Tuesday night from 8 o’clock.
