Locals in Keshcarrigan are calling for improvements to be made to a peace garden, which celebrates one of the first victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the area.

Fr Mychal Judge is recognised as one of the first victims of the plane attacks on the twin towers in New York 18 years ago and has strong Leitrim connections.

His mother came from Drumkeerin, while his father came from Keshcarrigan and, in 2005, a Memorial Peace Garden was set on the outskirts of the village to honour his local links.
