A local auctioneer says houses prices looks set to increase across the region as a result of people who are choosing to leave Dublin for cheaper homes in rural areas.
REA agent Joe Brady was commenting on housing data which shows the sale value of homes across the country has risen slightly in the past 3 months.
Longford continues to have the cheapest property in the region with the price of an average three bedroom semi-detached house set around €122,000.
It's followed by Leitrim on €124,000, Cavan on just over €127,000 and Roscommon on €145,000.
Monaghan has the highest housing cost in the region of €178,000 for an average three bedroom house, but there's no increase in costs locally over the past three months.
Local auctioneer Joe Brady says they are seeing a significant change in the last month as people get approval from their employers for remote working.
