The number of people unemployed in Leitrim in April increased by forty-five – the first rise recorded so far this year.
Overall increases in the number of people on the live register was recorded in all of the Shannonside counties.
CSO figures for April show a total of 1,737 people unemployed in County Leitrim – a rise of forty-five on figures for March.
The increase is the first recorded so far this year in the county and consists of a rise of fifty-six people unemployed in Carrick-On-Shannon seeking unemployment assistance in April- but a drop of eleven in Manorhamilton.
Longford’s live register figures rose by a total of nineteen in April – to bring the total unemployed in the county to 2,514 – the exactly dame figure as January’s total which was proceeded by two successive monthly decreases in the unemployment figures.
In Roscommon, an increase of ten people were recorded on the live register – consisting of a twenty-two person rise in Boyle but a drop in Roscommon town and Castlerea social protection offices.
Overall now in Roscommon 2,122 people are on the live register – just under three hundred fewer people than the same month last year.
Athlone’s unemployment levels grew by fifty individuals last month, while Mullingar’s total unemployed last month also grew by fifty-four.
