Leitrim schools received least amount of funding in the Government’s capital funding plan

Leitrim schools received the least amount of funding in the government’s capital funding plan for primary and post – primary schools last year according to new figures

The Minister for Education Richard Bruton has confirmed that that just over eight-hundred-and-seventy-thousands euro was spent in the county last year (€872,994)

Roscommon recorded the third lowest amount of funding nationally with just over three-point-three million euro spent last year on items such as buildings, furnishings, book rental scheme and school I.C.T. (€3,329,665)

Longford fared slightly better, receiving just over four-point-two-million-euro in funding.(€4,266,804)

Dublin received the biggest total for its school system, with €167 million spent in the capital last year.
