Leitrim road in Carrick reopens after serious crash

The Leitrim Road in Carrick-on-Shannon has fully reopened after a serious crash.

At 6 o’clock yesterday evening, a motorcycle and truck collided at Drumlumman, half a mile outside the town.

The female motorcyclist received serious head injuries and remains in Sligo University Hospital, but it is understood she’s in a stable condition and is likely to make a recovery.

It’s understood she’s from north Roscommon and is aged in her forties or fifties.

Part of the R280 was closed for 24 hours to allow forensic examinations to be carried out.
