Leitrim patients advised of long blood-test delay

Leitrim patients may have to wait up to a month for blood-test results because of staff shortages.

That’s according to a notice placed last week on the surgery of Dr Arthur Dolan in Mohill, advising clients of the delay.

The sign says it’s caused by a shortage of staff in Sligo University Hospital.

The Saolta group, which manages the hospital, has not yet responded to requests for comment.

But Mohill-based councillor Seadhna Logan fears the problem will only get worse.
