Leitrim man describes threat of loss of Rehab services as “human right” issue

A Leitrim man claims the possibility of a reduction in care being provided for vulnerable people with disabilities due to a funding shortfall is a “human rights issue”.

Rehab announced recently that it is facing a major funding shortfall and put the HSE on notice that it can only provide specialised services for a maximum of 12 months unless €2million is provided urgently.

The notice was subsequently withdrawn and a meeting took place yesterday between the Health Minister and Rehab representatives to try and resolve funding issues.
