Leitrim IFA president hopes new ruling will eliminate anger over ‘right-of-way’ issues

Leitrim IFA President James Gallagher says that if enough designated walks are agreed around the country, there will be no need for confrontation on rights of way.

He was commenting in the wake of a decision by the Court of Appeal yesterday which rejected a claim that a public right of way existed over a landowner’s property in Co Wicklow.

James Gallagher says that while it has been a contentious issue in the past, most claims about right of way have now been resolved.
