Leitrim Gardai warn residents to “lock up” following series of burglaries

Gardai in Co. Leitrim are warning people to light up and lock up after a series of burglaries in the last month.

Three break-ins occurred between the 21st and 26th of October in Fenagh, and the Tully and Canon areas of Ballinamore.

The first burglary occurred in a Fenagh residence on the 21st of October between 6 and 8pm, where jewellery was taken from the property.

The backdoor of a home in the Tully area of Ballinamore on the 24th of October was kicked in and the house was ransacked sometime between 5.30pm and 7pm.

A third break-in occurred between 10pm on the 25th of October and 10am on the 26th of October when a local garage in the Canon region had its rear door smashed in. A small amount of cash was taken.
