Leitrim company’s special Notre Dame furniture survives distressing blaze

Leitrim company ICS Furniture has expressed its hope that the Notre Dame Cathedral can be restored to its former glory.

The cathedral has been a landmark of the French capital for over 800-years.

The fire that has caused millions of euro worth of damage is being treated as an accident.

The Dromod company created 18 timber candelabra surrounds for Notre Dame Cathedral in 2014 and are hopeful that having seen pictures of the inside of the church today, it appears the furniture has survived the blaze.

Managing Director of the company Gavin Duignan told Shannonside FM that “history states that Notre Dame Cathedral has withstood revolutions and 2 world wars so we have no doubt that the people of Paris will reinstate this international landmark once again to its former glory”.
