The Cathaoirleach of Leitrim County Council has said much as people might want it, there can't really be any special treatment for the county, even if it has the lowest level of Covid cases in the country.
Councillor Mary Bohan was responding to criticism this week of the fact that the county had to endure level 3 restrictions even though the rate of Covid transmission there is very low.
Appealing to people this week to follow the restrictions and to support local businesses where they can, Councillor Bohan says while it might seem very unfair, the fact is that people are coming into and leaving the county on a daily basis, and it can't exist in isolation to the rest of the country.
