Keshcarrigan bowl features on latest An Post stamps

A bronze bowl discovered in a river in Leitrim in 1854 is featured as part of a series depicting historic items of Ireland.

A series of eight stamps have been published in recent days depicting some of the nation’s best known antiquities, including the Ardagh Chalice, Tara Brooch, and the Book of Kells.

The stamps featuring this series are known as “definitive” stamps, and they will remain on sale for a number of years.

Angus Laverty from An Post has been explaining the background of the Keshacarrigan bowl.
