Leitrim County Council is hoping that the rejuvenation of Carrick-on-Shannon is due to begin in the Autumn of this year.
Plans were unveiled to the public at an open consultation in the town yesterday and feedback and submissions are being sought by January 31st.
€3million euro is being spent on the upgrade of the town’s streetscape – it will involve removing some of the car parking spaces on Main Street but over 100 spaces are to be provided at the site known as Flynn’s Field.
Work in 2019 is the first phase of an overall regeneration plan costing over €8 million.
Planner with Leitrim County Council Bernard Greene says they’re working to a tight timeframe.
