GOAL appeals to Leitrim communities to consider fundraiser this Christmas

The GOAL charity is appealing to people in Leitrim to consider organising a community event this Christmas in order to raise funds.

The GOAL Mile is the humanitarian agency’s longest running and post popular fundraisers when thousands of people around the country walk, run or jog a mile on Christmas Day.

In the past, the GOAL Mile in Leitrim raised over €5,000 and the agency says it would like to see another community event organised in the county this year.

Alison Balfe from GOAL says there is a team working on the GOAL Mile who’d be happy to help any community in the county that expresses an interest.

She says there is an event that is kindly organised in the county by an individual already, but they’d like to see a community get involved again as well.
