Gardai advising of traffic restrictions at large Leitrim funeral

The funeral of a man who drowned in an accident on the Rver Shannon last Sunday takes place this morning.

Patrick Moffatt, an employee of Waterways Ireland, died while examining a lock on the Shannon-Erne waterway.

He will be laid to rest in Kilronan cemetery following funeral mass at midday in St. Patrick’s church, Drumboylan.


Gardai in Boyle are advising that there will be traffic restrictions on HGVS between Keadue and Ballyfarnon between 12.30 and 2.30 today.

Gardai will also be on point duty to help any motorists for the duration of the funeral.
