Frank Curran steps down as Leitrim County Council CEO

Leitrim County Council will have to look for a new chief executive after it was confirmed that Frank Curran has been appointed to the role in county Wicklow.

Earlier this month it was revealed that the Waterford native, who has been chief executive in Leitrim since February of 2014, was the sole candidate to take over as CE in Wicklow where the position has been temporarily filled since the retirement of former Roscommon county manager Eddie Sheehy in 2015.

In a statement to Shannonside FM, a Wicklow county council spokesperson confirmed that following a meeting held earlier this month, Mr Curran would be appointed as its new chief executive and his resignation will be officially announced at next Monday’s meeting of Leitrim County Council.
