Flood Minister Boxer Moran to visit Leitrim tomorrow

The Minister with responsibility for the OPW will discuss flood protection and prevention measures with council officials and local representatives in Leitrim tomorrow.

The proposals for the county include a flood defence wall along the banks of the River Shannon as well as new embankments in Carrick on Shannon and Leitrim village.

Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran will also travel to the homeplace of Sean MacDiarmada in Kiltyclogher and will hear about the ongoing efforts to encourage tourism and new families into the region.

Speaking on Let’s Talk, Sinn Féin Deputy Martin Kenny said he expects the meeting to be a fruitful one.
