Fianna Fáil has selected its six candidates for next May’s local elections in Leitrim

Fianna Fáil has selected its six candidates for next May’s local elections in Co Leitrim.

Earlier this week, a convention held in the county saw all current sitting councillors proposed and seconded to take their place on the ballot paper.

In the Ballinamore M.D, Caillain Ellis and Paddy O’Rourke are to stand for the party, while in Carrick-on- Shannon, Sean McGowan, who is the current cathaoirleach of the Council, is joined by newcomer Paddy Farrell.

In north Leitrim, Cllr. Mary Bohan, Cllr. Justin Warnock will be looking to retain their Council seats next May.
