Drumshanbo and Roscommon schools set for upgrade

Two primary schools in the Shannonside region have been granted funding to develop additonal classrooms as well as carry out repairs next year.

A new autistic spectrum disorder unit is to be developed at St Patrick’s National School in Drumshanbo by the school building unit of the Department of Education.

The total floor area of the new development is set to be 470 square meters and construction is likely to begin in the middle of 2018.

Elsewhere, emergency works funding has also been promised to carry out mechanical work at St Coman’s Woods National School in Roscommon.

Environment Minister Denis Naughten and Senator Frank Feighan welcome the news.
