The new Primary and Mental Health Care Centre in Carrick on Shannon is set to open by the end of this year.
The information was revealed at the latest Regional Health Forum, which took place in recent days.
Councillor Paddy Farrell put forward an inquiry about the possible opening date for the centre, which was reportedly supposed to open by springtime 2020.
However, he believes there will be further delays and doesn’t have faith it will be finished by the start of 2021.
According to Councillor Farrell, existing jobs will be transferred to the service and no new jobs will be created.
Speaking to Shannonside FM, he says the community needs the service.
