Carrick’s new CCTV system already helping to curb crime

The new CCTV system in Carrick on Shannon is already proving a success in tackling crime.

The Minister for Justice Charlie Flanagan was in Carrick on Shannon to officially launch the €150,000 community system last night, €40,000 of the finance was allocated from his Department.

There are 22 cameras now operating in the town.

Cathaoirleach of Leitrim County Council Enda McGloin says the gardai are already seeing its benefits.
