Bank of Ireland branches to lose counter staff

Bank of Ireland branches in Roscommon and Leitrim are losing teller services from today.

Customers will instead have to use an ‘advice and self-service’ model, where staff will move from behind the counter on to the floor.

The branches affected include Elphin, Strokestown, Drumshanbo and Mohill.

Businesses are among those to have spoken out about the controversial move, highlighting the difficulty they may experience in getting coins and change.
